HEEL PAIN SUFFERERS AND CHRONIC TENDONITIS SUFFERERS
AmnioFix Injection is a new revolutionary treatment available in our office for Plantar Fasciitis and Tendinitis. The AmnioFix Injectable is a micronized dehydrated human amnion/chorion membrane allograft (skin substitute product). When injected, the growth factors will help your own cells regenerate the damaged tissue, reduce scar tissue formation, and control inflammation.
Once implanted into the injury site using an injection, the natural amniotic tissue modulates inflammation, enhances healing factors and reduces scar tissue formation. You could say that this injection is like “an espresso shot for the cells,” making them work harder to repair damage. With this treatment, it is possible to make old cells act young again!
AmnioFix is a product processed from the lining of the placenta (amnionic/chorionic layers) that we like to call “stem cell magnets” because they can help to signal or recruit your own stem cells to help in the healing a variety of tissues such as tendons and ligaments and muscle. (This process does not harm mothers or children in any way.)
This treatment is different from corticosteoroid injections and platelet-rich plasma injections. Corticosteoroid injections are given after conservative treatments failed. Unfortunately these injections do not help the damaged tissue to regenerate -- they simply treat the inflammation and pain. Patients often reach the limit of steroid injections and their pain remains unresolved. Platelet rich plasma injections are more natural but do not have the growth factors for regenerating tissue.
